Woman Soul Records is a label created for Inanna, Sisters in Rhythm. We aspire to stand in line with traditional drum music of Africa through this self-titled label "Woman Soul Records." This label name also comes from a song on Inanna's first CD, Listen. The inspiration of "Woman Soul" we dedicate to Audrey Lorde, the writer, poet, feminist, leader in speaking the truth and speaking loudly for things that we feel are important. Inanna represents in their embodiment of this music their womanaly soul speaking the truth of taking back the drum. The drum, the most anicent of art forms, is who Inanna is and what they love to do. Drum. Sing. Dance. That is Woman Soul Records.
